SUSTAINABILITY

Nolte was "green" before "green" was cool. Sustainable design has been part of our culture since the mid-1960s and is woven into our mission and our values.

We Practice What We Preach

Nolte employees live a "green" lifestyle. Our company car is a Prius, we use only recycled paper, the lighting in our offices reduces CO2 emissions, and our carpets are made from recycled materials. All of Nolte's offices have conveniently located recycling bins where we actively recycle glass, plastic, aluminum, and paper. Offices also use Energy Star copiers and printers that can print double-sided copies to save paper. By upgrading our computer monitors to flat panels, we use less energy and create more work space for our employees.

We Help Sustainability Make Sense For Our Clients

Our engineers routinely look for opportunities to use resources more efficiently. We evaluate the economic feasibility of sustainable design opportunities and consider their potential impact on the environment and future generations. As a member of the US Green Building Council, we help our clients with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for their projects. We also develop projects using the Least Environmentally Damaging Practicable Alternative (LEDPA) process.

We believe that sustainable design principles are a NECESSITY - not a luxury.
