FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 2001
George Nolte, Jr., Honored with Civic Entrepreneur Award

George Nolte, Jr., is the first recipient of the Peter McCuen Award for Civic Entrepreneurs. The Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce created the award in memory of Peter McCuen. Mr. McCuen was a local developer who took his civic responsibility seriously and made a tremendous impact on the Sacramento community with his fund raising, mentoring, enthusiasm, and development efforts. Civic Entrepreneurship is a concept that encourages business leaders to bring to the community the same spirit of entrepreneurship and commitment they bring to their business endeavors.

George Nolte, Jr., was honored with the award primarily for his work in initiating the Regional Action Partnership/Valley Vision. The group evaluated the region in terms of 'economic clusters' (rather than political boundaries), formulated plans for seven critical regional issues, and has been diligently carrying them out. George is a member of the board of that group and is also a trustee of the Urban Land Institute, which help initiate the group. Active in a variety of professional organizations, George is firm believer that contributions to community and professional organizations further the Nolte firm's goals and guarantee Nolte's continued successful place in the markets and communities they serve.

Headquartered in Sacramento, Nolte provides comprehensive engineering, land planning, surveying, and management services for clients throughout the Western United States and in Mexico.
