Nolte provided construction management for $11.2 million in various infrastructure improvements including the installation of water, sewer, drainage, and roadway widening improvements and the widening of State Route 113 (North First Street). The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) awarded the project a Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Engineering Achievement of the Year.

Nolte provided project management oversight services for this $99 million project. The project provided an improved underground train switching and storage facility east of the existing Embarcadero Station at the foot of Market Street, and an extension of the subway to the surface at Folsom Street. This project won a Merit Award in the 1998 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement program sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

This Nolte-designed plant has won many notable awards for its role in protecting the pristine natural environment of the Smith River watershed where it is located. It received honorable recognition for design excellence from the Consulting Engineers Association of California (CEAC). It was selected as the California North Coast Plant of the Year and as California's Small Treatment Plant of the Year in the early '90s. It received the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region IX Operations & Maintenance 1st place prize for Small Non-discharging Plants at their National Excellence Awards in both 1993 and 1997. The treatment facility staff have won Operator of the Year and Laboratory Analyst awards over the course of several years by the North Coast Section of the California Water Environment Association (CWEA).

Chris Robbins joins Nolte as an Engineering Manager

Chris Robbins, PE has joined Nolte's Salt Lake City as the Engineering Manager and head of their land development services group. He has over 26 years of design, project management, and construction management experience. His background includes project development, engineering, and construction management for urban land, commercial, industrial, resort, and aerospace development projects. He has a considerable amount of experience in managing large master planned community, resort, and industrial projects. Prior to joining Nolte, Chris was the project leader for the DAYBREAK development project in South Jordan. He will continue to lead that effort, as well as serving as a manager of Nolte's land development group.

Established in 1949, Nolte is a full-service civil engineering firm with over 350 professionals in offices throughout the Western United States and Mexico. Nolte is a professional service firm of engineers, planners and surveyors. Derek Johnson joins Nolte Associates

Derek Johnson, PE, is a senior engineer in Nolte's Denver office. In his new role, his primary focus will be on engineering and project management for commercial, industrial, office, and multifamily site development, as well as providing infrastructure design support for the residential land development group. He has over 13 years of experience on a multitude of public and private engineering projects throughout Colorado (including airports, hotels, hospitals, roadways, and government facilities).
