This renowned project attracted scientists from all over the world, and had our project engineers traveling to as far away as China to describe the processes involved. It received the Golden State Award (the top honor) in an Engineering Excellence Awards competition held by the Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California (CELSOC) and was awarded the Research Achievement of the Year nomination at a California Water Environment Association (CWEA) conference.

This project provided an all-weather road and bridge crossing over the Tijuana River. Prior to construction of the new bridge, storms and flooding had stranded residents living on the south side of the river. The project won an Outstanding Civil Engineering Project award from the San Diego Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Nolte provided site engineering for this transfer station and recycling facility that occupies a corner within the City of La Mesa's Public Works yard. Aesthetics and landscaping were extremely important because the project is visible from an adjoining (recently developed) commercial area. The project won an Outstanding Civil Engineering Project Award (Buildings and Structures) by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) San Diego Section.
